Default Replies to a pm ?

I receive a pm from a forum member to which I have twice attempted to reply to however the replies do not show as having been sent.

Does this mean the messages have not been sent or does the recipient have to have read it or opened it before it shows as having been sent .... as far as I can see no outbox function for pm's exists.

Baz, if you go to your PM inbox page in the center top there is a folder control and in the center of that there is a jump to folder drop down box. You should be able to click on the drop down and it will show all your inbound PM's and your sent PM's. Sent PM's do not have to be opened to show up in your sent list, but before you send a PM you can set an opened receipt notification that lets you know if that PM has been opened and read. Let me know if you still have troubles.

Thanx Pikester for explaining, however must say it seems a rather complicated process compared to that employed at other forums.

My main concern was that maybe the person that had sent me a pm may have been thinking I was ignoring him ... but as it happens he has advised he received the reply so all good.

Cheers Barry

Hey bazzanz,

It would also be wise to check your settings in your User CP > Settings & Options > Edit Options > Messaging & Notification > Private Messaging > check off the box for Save a copy of sent messages in my Sent Items folder by default
