Agreed!  However, some fish are a put and take resource like the 70,000 12 inch trout that the DOW stocks in Aurora Res every year vs. the 300 bass they stock every 5 years.  BTW, I care deeply about the trout in Aurora...  they feed the big wipers, walleye and BASS!!

I just love all the hypocrisy that abounds in this debate. Every fisherman has thier "pet" species that they "protect" for whatever justifiable reason, while they have a freezer full of fillets of another species. .....

*******

The way I see it you can't really have it both ways. If you do like to keep fish, please be selective and take into account size of lake.

I don't know about you, but I'm in favor of and practice catch and release of big fish of every species in Colorado in almost every water.  The lone exception might be Antero, just because it winterkills so frequently through the years and it is managed strictly as a put-grow-harvest lake.

There are too many anglers in Colorado anymore for people to be killing every big fish they catch.

I would love to see.......bag limit 4 (or whatever #) with only 2 over 16" (or whatever # pending species) implemented as a rule statewide on every species.
