Met up with Icefisher, Lake1177, and our new partner in crime from the site at 4:30 in morrison.  Off we went to the fork.  It was pretty foggy at first, but the drive wasn’t bad.  Got there around 6:30 am and hiked in a ways to a spot.  Drilled a few holes and we were off to the races.  Ice gator still rolling strong.  Ice had a 4-5 inches of snow, without 20 inches or so of good ice.

Didn’t take long, and Ed iced a couple lakers.  I used jig heads and twister tails mostly, although used a few tubes with some success all tipped with sucker.  62 FOW.  Best bite was from 10 am or so to noon, although the bite would come in waves. I finally got my laker mojo back, iced a dozen or so!  Biggest was 22 inches.

The Ice man got stuck on the way out, we thought it was a minor dig-out, left a shovel….well, turned out not to be.  Too bad we  left early and missed all the digging fun, but glad you guys got out!!

Weather was good--a little foggy, not real cold, snowy at times, pretty light wind.  Spent the entire time on one spot fishing the same two holes, mostly in the Basecamp.

Here are some pics….

The ice dude fishing out of his hut:

Our new partner in crime with his best of the day, 21 inches:

The ice dude with a nice mack

This one warmed up a little before heading back to the depths.

Just another day at the office at SchMackinaw, Inc.

Biggest of the day for me, fun fight and he took some drag--22 inches

Nice day to be out there.  Maybe 10 other groups on the whole lake.  Traffic wasn’t too terribly bad on the way back.  Ed and I headed back over Berthoud Pass.

Great fishing with you guys!

Nice job Jeff and crew.  We had planned on fishing the Fork today also, but went to Gross instead.  That turned out to be a good move on our part.  Glad to hear you had some good action.

I thought the part where we got stuck was a trip, but Ice Fisher thought otherwise.  It almost turned bad though when Ice Fisher's truck fell in a ditch as he was backing out (it's only a trip as long as nothing brakes and no one gets hurt, but you come close to it).  I have no idea how he got out of that.  I had given up when I saw his truck in the ditch and ran to the last fisherman on the ice to ask him if we could use his cell phone to call a tow truck.  By the time I met up with that last hardy soul on the ice, Ice Fisher already got out of the ditch.  We got back in town a little after 8:00 PM.  This was my best laker trip so far this year.  Thanks for the fishing trip, guys.

Other than getting my truck stuck in a drift(memories of Jefferson last year), the day was awesome. Our new buddy Linh, fit right in with this crazy group and had a very good day. I landed quite a few, ranging from guppy sized to 22". Now, if I can only find where the kokes school up, I'll be in heaven.

Just back from up there today.  I saw where you stopped and took off to go fishing.  I got stuck about fifty feet behind your furthest drift busting attempts.  Didn't do what you did while I was backing out.  How did you get out of that Shocked.  Glad fishing was good.  Who has pics of the Baja King Grin.

Always a good day with friends, no wind, and fish biting. Again, Lin, nice fishing with you. And I hope that Chris has his getting stuck out of the way the rest of the season.
A few pics.

Hey Linh, that's how he rolls!   Shocked Grin Grin  At least you didn't almost hike from the second gate up jefferson road to the almost the town Smiley  Seriously though, to ice's credit, got the chains on, and got out of it.

Good fishing with you man.  You'll have to borrow my extra hut.
