Just curious, how expensive was that 1 fish?
Mike, it averages about $200.00 per person with tip. Rates are here!

All we had to bring was what we wanted to eat and drink for the day! The knowledge gained by going with Bernie was worth a lot more than what I paid since I had never targeted Lakers on purpose before. I would say it cut my learning curve by over 50%. Plus I got to drive a killer sled of his!!!  Roll Eyes Thing was a bullet!!!  Shocked Grin Shocked

mojo, I would say both!!! Pound for pound pulling rate Lakers win. On the fight thrashing wise I would say Pike!!! This fish pulled harder than the last 42 inch Pike I pulled in!!!

cocoking, yes that was us at the ramp. Didn't know that was you until after you were gone, sorry or I would have come over and said Hey!!!  Grin

TthePikester,

I don't have your knowledge in fishing for either species, so I will take your word on it.  If I had to give up fishing for either, I couldn't do it.  I like "trying" to catch both.  Congrats on your success in your adventures.  Thanks for sharing.

Well I can tell you one thing it was cheaper than me having to rent a snowmobile in Grand Lake (which is in the $200 neighborhood for Grand Lake rentals) or buy a snowmobile...something I have no place to keep...I am up in the Granby area for 4 days starting Thursday...if I fish Granby it will be on foot...it makes it really tough but I will try it for a bit...there is also the Granby pump canal...something I really love to fish...plus I have some ideas on Williams Fork too...

Lastly have caught plenty of fish and big fish in my life...it aint always about the fish...this has become a mid winter tradition and abusefest...I have fished my arse off on Chatfield this winter...talking to Nate two saturdays ago after a 14 hour day on Chatty...him and I agree...the guys that love ice fishing for the most part ice places where they can use ATVs and snowmobiles...pulling the 125 pound sled all over Chatty for the day...Nate pulls a zillion pound sled all over Antero...another no sled or ATV spot...with deeper snow at times...I cant tell you the word we agreed on for the snowmobile users...bwahaahahahahaaa...plus working my arse off on the vampire shift is coming...so once a winter it is a Godsend to have Bernie do all the work (nice to be pampered)...well most of it any way...and he worked his arse off...inspite of having snowmobiles to do some of it!!...which again I dont have nor will I never have...I cant justify it...I just dont go to the high country much anymore...I have evolved from my trout day and become a warm water bigot...
