Colorado Fisherman - The Magazine

Colorado Fisherman Magazine is no longer in production.

Dear Subscribers,

Over the last year, we’ve had a lot of fun bringing you fishing information in the form of Colorado Fisherman Magazine. Your response was nothing short of incredible and we appreciate your dedication to making it a success.

Unfortunately, the advertising side of the business was not nearly as popular as was received by the angling public. We struggled to even maintain lukewarm support from advertisers. We tried all kinds of offers – we even gave away a lot of ads for free to show the power of our web and magazine offerings but we couldn’t make any of them “stick”.

Could this magazine be successful in Colorado? Yes, I believe it could but it would take a lot more capital and time to build a bigger circulation and in turn a solid advertising base. As a result of that belief, I personally spent the last four months seeking out an investor or buyer so we could see the dream continue. We had many good leads and met many good people that were interested, but ultimately we didn’t find anyone willing to contribute financially to the project.

So, where does that leave us? First of all, Colorado Fisherman Magazine will no longer be printed. The May 2006 issue (Issue 8) was our last offering. We will be issuing prorated refunds for the missing issues (i.e. If you received 6 issues from your 12 month subscription, you will get 50% in return). Logistically, this is a huge undertaking with the numbers of subscribers we have, so we will begin with the most recent subscribers and work our way back. If you wish to expedite your refund request, you must mail your name, address with a brief description of your request to:

Colorado Fisherman Magazine

3578 Hartsel Dr. Ste E-329

Colorado Springs, CO 80920

We will not be handling email or phone requests for refunds, so mail in your requests for faster service.

What about the website? The website will continue as is, freely available to you to share information about angling here in Colorado. We will no longer be accepting individual advertisements, but you will see a few select stay until existing agreements are fulfilled. I will be mush less involved in the daily operations of the website (as you have seen the last couple of months) as I transition back into regular full-time employment outside of the fishing industry.

Again, I can’t thank you enough for your support of the magazine and for allowing us to pursue this dream. If you have any questions or comments, please send them to the mailing address above or email them to ken@coloradofisherman.com.

Sincerely,

Ken Broeren
