Default Ice fishing line

Are there any new lines for Ice Fishing out there this year? I am particularly looking for something with low stretch for when I target Lakers this year.

Just bought some fireline crystal. Looks good and can't wait to try it. Had good luck with 6# transition last year on ice. Low stretch and good visibility above water. Strong too! 8# was too stiff and "coily" for my preference.

I was fishing early sun. morning and the crystal fireline I was using kept freezing up on the reel . I would think if you were in a shelter, wouldn't be an issue, but in the cold maybe.

i know the regular fireline freezes very easily, thats one of the reasons i don't use it in the winter. i use it on all my reels in the summer.

For most panfish, three or four pound test Trilene Micro Ice is just right.* Three pound test for bluegills and sunfish, four pound for perch and crappies will usually be good.* Go with 8/3 or 10/4 FireLine Micro Ice for LARGER fish.* These lines are specially formulated for cold weather fishing.
