Dang Bernie

Sounds like you almost had to tie a buoy to your widetrack sled and pick it up in the spring.

Thanks for the ice report and safety advice.

As a snowmobile rookie this year I'm thinking I will need my ice picks, a floatation device, good rope, cell phone and radio, and when I can find one a fishing partner.

Anybody out there know of something else I might need?

I'm hoping the ice will be good by Jan 1st.

Dave

Bernie - that is why I stay within 300 feet of the dam......LOL. Makes it easier to summon help when Barnie Fife drives by.

Poor Barney. No respect. If you're one foot inside the flags they put out, he will stop and yell at you. But that's his job. Probably just bored. Maybe he would rather be fishing. But they are cool. Watch your speed across dikes 1 and 2, and all the way to the dam and beyond. I got stopped for doing 38 in the 25 mph speed limit there. He just gave me a warning, and told me to slow down.

I think this thread has swayed a little bit away from Bernie's post. Bottom line, be careful out there, 'specially with early ice.

Fish on, fish safe.
