Default Chatfield

Does anyone know if there is safe ice at Chatfield. The west end should be freezing up.

Drove around the lake this morning...Platte River arm is frozen but looks really thin...didnt go out there and check though...main lake still not frozen...there were people ice fishing the boat ramp cove by the tower...it looked like it was only two thirds frozen in that cove even...I didnt drive down there and find out how thick either...still too thin for this boy...need some more cold weather...

I hear ya. I went by there a few weeks ago and there was a guy out by himself about 40 yards fishing on 2 inches! Ice looked very very thin and had water on top of it. He said he had caught a few but that is a little too thin for me.

I would like to ice chatfield a few times this year though if it gets a safe lid.

I drive by Chatfield every day on my way home from Roxborough, saw a group icefishing off the swim beach, another off Catfish Flats, and still another group on the first big gravel pit south of the lake. Didn't see anyone fall thru!

Please be safe out there.
