Default Old ice auger

First of all let me tell you all that being a frugal person doesnt always pay off. Heres my problem... Ive got an extremely old jiffy auger that had the weld on bit and it was completly shot but the motor runs so strong. I found a lower unit for my auger at garts on sale (NOT RETURNABLE)It was a great deal so I thought . It slipped right on and I was extremely excited! (like having a brand new auger) well I guess I was a few fish short of a full stringer and didnt check to see what direction my auger spun and my new auger needs to be spun . well my motor spins counter-clock-wise and the shaft need to be spun clock-wise. We have a 1 month old daughter and money is really tight. ANY IDEAS? HELP!!!!

I agree call jiffy they've helped me out a couple times. Just out of curiosity what model do you have 50 or 90, other? My jiffy's actually about 15 years old and they still carry everything I've ever needed (but I think the carb is being fazed out by walbro) Most non jiffy augers turn clockwise (I Think) like the old jiffy's, I been curious if another company's might fit it.

jiffys have always turned the reverse direction of all the others. interesting question would be why? i think it has something to do with how the auger reacts when it breaks through the ice, the jiffy's dont seem to want to take you to the bottom of the lake with them. IMO.jiffy does do a great job, but the blades aren't real cheap. i think they are about $160.

I have a model 50 that turns clockwise (right) Only the model 50 and 90 did that all other jiffys have the counter clockwise turn.

I really don't know mine has a metal tag that says the model number and some other stuff. I'm sure you could sell the auger that you got a good deal on. I might even be interested if it fit your jiffy it might fit mine. Do you know what direction that blade is meant to spin?
