Default Chatfield ice?

I was wondering if anyone has been on Chatfield recently. How thick is the ice?

was on chatfield today 7-9-07, fished out from the swim beach. ice was 10 inches thick in 13 fow, went out about a quarter mile to find the gravel pits. fished for 1/2 hour at 16 feet, but did not feel that safe. the ice was 10 inches but kept sinking in water about 4 inches. The ice is like frozen snow. felt better fishing closer to shore. seen fish, caught none.

fished at the north boat ramp on sunday (instead of trying to make it to grandby). Ice was plenty thick - about 12''. Caught one bow that Ralph (a regular at this spot weighed at 3 pounds and two smaller stockers. Son in law caught three about 16" each .Fished for 7Am to 3PM so was really slow. Did go out at Catfish Flats to the gravel pits. Fished the drop off no good, Ice spooky, 6" ice, slush over about 5" ice. Safe but scary when it drops.
