Default Custom PVC Rod holder ... it worked .. Transducer ice mount too

after losing a rod thru ice decided i should make this thing, basically free with leftover pvc & hockey tape .. worked great besides the stupid strike indicator on rod tip ( i thought it would help), lost like 10+ fish today. blank rod sets the hook nice, thats how I cut my hand today too, i had the auger holding it down from wind attacks, went to set hook, swiped auger blade

Nice set up. When does the mass production & marketing begin?

Be careful with those auger blades, I know a guy who almost lost his thumb when he slipped on the ice and caught it on the blade. Use those covers!

Another thing I may do. Windproof it using a Bicycle hanger (screw in J shaped rubber coated hook)

CoKid said those work good for ice hut anchors, since they self tap .. will bring one tomrrow & see if it works

the best thing was on dead stick line, when checking bait on multiple hooks, you dont even have to move it (if anchored) .. it hanged nicely above hole with no line issues even in wind, sinker was a bit heavy but it keeps the line tight. if youre like me I have 2 hooks with a sinker at end of line .. kind of a drop shot rig

maybe all CFM members will make one of these, easy way to spot one another .. maybe paint em dayglo

PVC works great for transducer T ice mounts too .. i like it because its lightweight, next thing is a canoe mount for the trans.. I already have idea for that one, thanks to Big Worm & Cowboy for pvc lesson

Sled is from Big 5 sporting goods on west alameda ... $5.99 i think w/ extra holes drilled for bungies

Awesome design, man! Well thought out.

Hubby suggested using a lighter action rod - just needs a sensitive tip and who needs strike indicators?!?

So, what do we have to do to get one of these?
