Default atown the good and bad

went out there today on a whim hoping I could find ice. senac looked sketchy but there were people out there. I chose to walk to lonetree and had the bay to myself. no real problem getting on and once I did I found five inches pretty much everywhere I drilled. the edges aren't soft but there is some water on top of the ice ranger says it is from them filling the lake.only problem I had today was catching fish. I only marked three fish ,all three I caught one trout and two nine inch perch. I fished in ten to forty feet of water all three came in twenty and all three were on a buckshot spoon tipped with a minnow head.if you go be careful especially getting off but with the colder weather coming it should be good for at least another week

Thanks for the report! I'm surprised that there's any fishable ice there.

There have been very little fish showing up in the coves, must be out in the main part of the lake.

yeah Johny thats what mike was saying but I just had to see for myself. if the ice stays they will come. I still think with them still filling they'll show up back there for spring spawning.
