Has anyone been to bear creek lake lately? Whats the ice looking like?

I should clarify, it sucks unless your fishing for trout but who really cares about trout

hasn't been a tiger musky in years, some saugeye mostly small. and really only a few walleye brought over from Harriman they aren't stocked in there

I think it was 2-3 years ago, My wife and I had our kayaks out there. I was fishing and she was just paddling around. She starts yelling "there's a big fish under my kayak, I can see his head on one side and his tail on the other." I asked her if it had stripes on it. She said it did. I paddled over as fast as I could but it was gone.
I think there might be a couple still in there.

thats about right, it was about three years ago that the last one was caught, talking to the rangers they kept pretty close eye on them. smallmouth are there but people keep taking them even the small ones. unfortunately there is no size limit on them so selective harvest really docent exist there.
