Default First Ice Fishing of Season - Catching Cutties

My itch is soooo bad that I have to go find ice somewhere! Ice has been found and fishing was decent.

The road up wasn't too bad until we ran into some deeper snow. Lucky a fellow forum member with the name of John was able to fit us in his bad ass Tacoma and get us within 1/4 of the lake. Fished with minimal success on 4 inches of ice, wind wasn't too bad and the fish were tight lipped but we managed a handful.

I would but last year it wasn't frozen this early and it was cold. I got up there and it was soft slush and then lake water. I think FRR would be more solid. But you make a good point fish are the same tiny size either or...

Sounds like I got me a couple of chances for sure. IT would be cool if both were. My buddy going with me has never caught a tiger or a brookie through ice.

I saw that and for Monday the forcast calls for 74mph gusts. I might turn into a drone and wildly fly all over the summit.

Wind like that will tear down the ice pretty quick... or at least make it unsafe. Be careful if you go.

Always bud. I don't go too far from shore and usually leave a rope out.
