A post from over the weekend said that there was about 2 inches of snow on the ground. They close it after the firs tmajor storm, so I'm sure that will have no troubles getting up.
I was up there yesterday about 1:00pm and there was a base of a few inches of snow on the road. It warmed up in the afternoon and it didn't really look to me like there would be enough snow on the road to take a snowmobile without possibly tearing up your sled. But, I turned around at the Colorado Trail crossing -- didn't have a chance to check out ice the ice on the lake :-[. Things may have been much different farther up the road in the curvy/shaded part of the road just before the lake, and sure should be if we get a big dump this weekend. Calling Jonahs is a great suggestion.
