Default Wellington #4 Saturday

Hey all,
I'm a Den leader for a scout den up here in the Loveland/Ft. Collins area and am thinking about taking the boys out to Wellington #4 Saturday morning, just wondering if anyone has been out that way and what the ice conditions are? Also anyone having any luck out there? I remember last year aruond this time we were having good luck for both trout and a few small perch using mealworms and minnows. The boys all seem excited about going out and I want to "do my best" to put them onto some fish.

More power to you... taking the scouts out - they are a great organization. I hope to take my friend and his scout den out in January. I don't have any idea about the ice on Wellington #4 but.......

You most likely have already thought about this, but anytime you start dealing with groups, the ice dynamic changes. Ice that is good for one or two people together might cave when a group of scouts huddle arounds to look at somebody's big fish or when watching you take the big honking hook out of Tommy's thumb. A big group on marginal ice is scary and nerve wracking - been there and done that!

Good luck - hope you guys catch 'em till your arms hurt.

Through various reports I've read, about 5 inches of ice...

Good Luck!
