Default Wolford Ice/fishing report

Fished at Wolford on Sunday morning by the dam. Caught a couple decent rainbows and a really nice koke. 8 inches of ice. Down by the boat ramp it looked a lot thinner. Word from the locals was the boat ramp area was the last to freeze and just froze this last week. It's been really cold so I bet by Wednesday it'll be a "go" everywhere. Even saw one guy out there on a snowmobile. Guys around me seemed to be catching a few trout as well.

Thanks for the report. It was a little thin by the boat ramp.

yeah the ice at the ramp was only 1-1/2 '' on sat. Was there any slush on the ice?

Not really. There was about 10" of snow but not really that feeling where you are breaking through a couple of inches of semi frozen snow to a water layer on the ice. That's by the dam. Around the boat ramp, there wasn't much snow on the ice as it must have frozen after a snow but it looked pretty sketchy. I walked the 3 feet from shore to the boat ramp still in the ice and the ice cracked pretty good. I could see at the end of the boat ramp where a test hole was drilled and a spud was wacked into the ice and it looked pretty thin, but I bet by now it's got a thicker lid on it and maybe ready.
