Default Anyone hear of a fatality at Red Feathers?

Heard a sad story of a guy fishing w/ his 19 year old son. Slipped on the ice, and passed away...

Just wondering if anyone heard or had details?

That would be some real bad news. Definitely slippery out there right now!

Wow, that really would suck.

I did a search on the coloradoans site (Fort Collins paper) and google news for recent stories, and I'm not seeing anything James.

It was the husband of a nurse that works at the same hospital my wife does. I guess he was on blood thinner and he hit his head (after slipping) and passed from his injury before EMT'S got there.

My wife wanted me to post this to see if anyone had heard, and to advise wearing yak traks or something similar...

Yes, unfortunately I did hear about it, his son (the 19 year old and his brother worked with and are friends with a very good friend of mine) saw him fall, went over there, and his dad was screaming, by the time he got off the phone with 911 he was unconsciense. Was wearing cleats (only under center part of boot). Took EMS an hour or two to get there, then airlifted him out, however he was brain-dead. Day after xmas, sad, sad story. Closed head inuries are bad.
