Default Colorado Fishing and Hunting Shows?

Are there any TV shows that feature local hunting(not just Elk) and fishing?

Television, radio shows featuring a lot of locals
The Denver Post

Littleton-based Orion Multimedia will feature Willi Schmidt in three hunting episodes in 2009. (Charlie Meyers, The Denver Post )It can't be possible that every outdoorsman in the Denver area has his own TV show. It only seems like it.

The offering for 2009 includes a breakout season for a number of locals new to the airwaves guys like you and me who finally got in front of the camera, solved the sponsor riddle and now will be beamed direct to your living room.

Here are the particulars. As they say in the business, stay tuned.

Dave Bryant. The Parker resident will join producer Jim Nickerson in his TV debut with the "Hammerin Fishing Adventures" show, which kicks off Jan. 10 on Altitude Sports. The lead show will be at 8 a.m. Saturdays, with reruns at 7 a.m. Sundays and 3:30 p.m. Fridays. The show will air at the same times on the Dish

Chad LaChance will debut his "Fishful Thinker" show on the Altitude network. (Special to The Post )Network. Nine of the early episodes will feature ice-fishing, including tough treks into the outback, with lots of lake trout on the menu. The show kicks off with big rainbows at Antero Reservoir.
Orion Multimedia. The Littleton-based production company has a series of offerings with a local flair, beginning 11 a.m. Jan. 14 on Versus with Denverite Willi Schmidt and his daughter, Samantha, on "Turkey Revolution." Schmidt also has Orion "Whitetail Revolution" and "Monster Bulls" shows scheduled on Versus beginning in August. Local Courtney Olson will appear on the same turkey episode.

Parker artist Steve LeBlanc will host an Orion-produced hunt show on ESPN beginning in July, while local author Chris Dorsey has three hosts spots later in the year on Versus: "World of Beretta," "Dangerous Game" and "Waterfowler's Edge." He'll also host "Ultimate Sportsman's Lodge" on Do It Yourself Network.

Barry Reynolds. The alternative species specialist has pulled his "Fly Fishing Journal" from Altitude, but has two seasons full of shows in the can ready to launch on a national cable network in high definition as soon as negotiations are complete. Meanwhile, Reynolds has released his "Urban Warfare" DVD showing how to catch carp, walleye and smallmouth on the South Platte River from Chatfield through the metro areas. Available at local shops ($29.95).

Chad LaChance. Another newcomer to the airwaves, the Fort Collins resident will begin his "Fishful Thinker: Mountain States Edition" program at 8:30 a.m. Saturdays on Altitude. Reruns will be at 6:30 a.m Sundays and 2 p.m. Fridays. La-Chance emphasizes a wide range of species and locations, mostly withing six hours of Denver.

"If it swims, we'll chase it," he says of a panorama ranging from big reservoirs to little streams.

Terry Wickstrom. The dean of Colorado's TV hosts, he'll launch his "Angling Adventures" program at 9 a.m. Saturdays on Altitude, with reruns at 7:30 a.m. Sundays and 3 p.m. Fridays. While much of this year-round show was filmed in the Rocky Mountain region, it also will focus on exotic locations across the Western Hemisphere with emphasis on information that will allow the viewer to replicate the adventure.

Wickstrom continues his "The Fan Outdoors" radio show 8-10 a.m. each Saturday on KKFN 104.3 FM.

Nathan Zelinsky. The Bailey resident will make his radio debut Jan. 21 with a 10 a.m.-noon Wednesday slot on Mile High Sports, 1510 AM. He'll offer a corresponding video display of each show on his website, tightlineoutdoors.com.
