put a 5 gallon bucket of water in a deep freezer? Or can you just start it and spin the drill without testing the blades?
Congrats on the new auger. I am ordering mine next week hopefully.

Congrats to both of you! Ice fishing is right around the corner!

Joh, put gas in it and fire it up. Should spin when you give it some throttle. (Leave the cap on --blades will be sharp)!

If you have to take it back, wait for the specials when the season comes around. You can get a new one for maybe $50 more and if you buy from Gander Mtn they'll take it right back if you have any problems (I think for up to three months, but check on that). That's a really good reason not to buy one anywhere else, IMO. (Just a satisfied customer. I bought a new Strikemaster and had to do just that. I had no hassles, none, and that was before I knew the names of anybody who worked there).

You CAN go ice fishing with a hand auger (a lot of guys here do) but the power auger is a necessity if you want to move around and drill a bunch of holes, especially later in the season when the ice gets thick!

That is a sweet price for a Jiffy. That is a great find. Enjoy!

So long as it spins, it'll cut. Do like the dude said, just leave the safet covers on it.

If you need it, I have some jiffy 2 stroke oil laying around, unopened...
