Default When do high moutain lakes freeze?

When do the high mountain lakes that are right at timberline typical get a safe lid on them to ice fish? I may hike into one during hunting season if they have a safe lid by the end of October.

when the water reaches 32 degrees F.

I imagine you'll find some that will have safe ice by then.
