Default Ice anchor install tool

For any of you who are interested, Clam Corp. offers a tool for your cordless drill to install their ice anchors. The cost is $14.95 plus $6.00 for shipping. I couldn't get the "Buy now" button to work so I called Customer Service and ordered that way. Clam Corp. phone: 763-231-4120

You're welcome, Clint. It looks like it should fit the Shappel anchors, too. I have some of those as well, so I'll update this when the tool comes and I can try it.

Not a bad idea. Wish they had thought of that a few years ago. I'll usually just sorta hammer my anchors in until I get in about a quarter inch, then push down with all my weight and start spinning until the self threading screws catch.

i have had one of these units for the past 6 years and the do work great as long as the drill keeps a charge when its cold and the anchors dont become bent (which actually happens quite a bit) you do have to use 5/16 diameter or smalled eye bolts or anchors, the thicker 3/8 ones wont fit.. unless they changed the drill bit unit of course...just an fyi...

I received my Clam tool troday. It's a very well made piece, machined from a piece of solid aluminum rod.

It fits the Clam Corp. anchors perfectly. For the Shappel anchors, you have to cut away a small strip of the rubber coating on the handle. I then glued the loose rubber back to the anchor with Super Glue. Fits them just fine after that modification.

I'm not sure, Clint. That collar on your anchors may well get in the way. You may have to grind that off on one side is my guess.
