Default "Bernie" Ice Rod Update From Eagle Claw

I received an email reply this morning from a gentleman from Eagle Claw this morning and also a follow-up call from him this afternoon. He was very nice to talk to and acted like he genuinely appreciated my input as a customer. According to him the new line of "Bernie" ice rods are hopefully going to be available in local markets possibly as early as late January/early February. He could not say how much/what if any changes will be made from the previous models until they have finished collaborating with Bernie on the design of the new models. Perhaps there is some light at the end of the tunnel. Here is a copy of the email I recieved.....

Dear Jeremy,

Thank you very much for your email and I'm sorry that we have disappointed you. We continue to work to upgrade and improve our overall product line and we are in fact working on a new rod to replace this one. I will be working with Bernie in the middle of Dec. on the new models and I think you will like them.

Sincerely,
Al Noraker

Great, now I'm torn between being relieved that I can get more of my new favorite fishing pole and wondering if they are going to be improved to the point that I will need to buy all new poles.
Not a bad spot to be in, actually.
Thanks for doing the legwork.

Adam

I will guess that one change is that the eye closest to the handle will be gone. Per Bernie's advice, I removed that guide and ground it down so it's smooth. The rod performs better with a big fish without the last eye guide.

Thats cool! There's nothing like Eagle Claw to be behind the eight ball! How about just wait till next season. Maybe they will be Bright Yellow! Better visibility...............
