Default how thick of ice for atv, its a bigger one,

is 8''-10'' safe , ive never used an atv before on ice but usually drive the truck on the ice after 16+ inches

8" of solid clear ice should be plenty. I dont know where I saw it at but there is a list of ice thickness and how much whieght it will suport.

ha,ha. just hope that as you are buzzing along across the lake that it is a uniform thickness all the way across..or you are in for a suprise...it is always better to err on the side of caution.

I've been on 5" at Granby no problem. 660 Grizzly pulling a Cabelas steel fold a sled with gear but insisted that my freind go first, LOL.

According to the chart 9" will will hold around 7,000 pounds moving, which is close to a suburban and a buddy and gear.

Who wants to test the chart ?!!!!!

Bet that was like watchin dominos . All I know is that insurance wont pay for that unless ya pay for an additional clause to be added and its probably expensive.

I was in a cove at wolford and the ice started makin noise then a F 350 diesel came around the corner there was around 12 inches of ice but it sure was makin alot of noise.
