Default Will GROSS ICE?

I have a client that lives near Gross. He told me that there are coves that are iced over at Gross. In 2008 We had a cold snap that lasted 19 days. Average temperature was around 22 degrees. This was in late december. Gross stayed iced over until march. Any predictions for this year? Is there any knowlege or Science to this? I know wind up there always is a huge factor. Has anyone been up there recently?

I think he meant the winter of 2007/2008 into March of 08. Yes, it was, and we iced it a lot. Winter 2008/2009....lake did not freeze over except way back in the inlet. I think this year it might and I hope.

It'll look like woodstock safe for the free love, drugs and rock music. Well for some it'll be 2/3. I've smelled some funky smells from some huts up there before. Damn lakes close to Boulder.

Lets hope so!!! After the cold snap we had in December last year that had guys fishing on all the metero lakes, my buddy and I hit Gross on December 19th and it was still wide open. We did get on the ice near the inlet on February 13th and 16th. It was a very short ice season at Gross last year!!
