Default Any ideas for Romantic Getaway + ice fishing.

My wife says that she wants a romantic getaway for her Christmas present. She even mentioned that it could include ice fishing . It could be anywhere from a weekend to a week.
Anyone have some suggestions? It should probably be somewhere that has something for her to do during the day, in case she decides not to fish(very likely). We moved here from Minnesota about three years ago and haven't really explored much. I have ice fished at Antero, Granby, Elevenmile and Chatfield. I liked Granby best, but I am definitely open to something new. I am thinking around Jan 22.

Glenwood Springs is always a good bet. You are only a half hour from Rifle Gap and Harvey Gap and Ruedi Res.

Adam,

Do you guys ski?...there is a little ski area called Silver Creek about 2 miles south of Granby...they have condos there...big spacious units tons of amentities including hot tubs in the units...its not the Inn at Silver Creek which is a hotel and you dont want that you want the condos...and its walk out to skiing and about 7 miles from ice fishing Granby...she could probably go shopping or exploring in Winter Park...you could probably rent noted couples relationship therapist, and Dr Ruthlike sex therapist, and lesser noted laker guide Bernie Keefe of Granby for a day of Laker fishing...

Ouray...You could stay at the Box Canyon Lodge. Outdoor Ceder hot tubs terraced on the hillside give you a great view of Mount Sneffels..Plenty to do right there in town...Good restaurants and shopping. You could hit up Ridgeway Reservoir for big browns, kokes..and perch...Or take the drive back up to Blue Mesa.

Town of Grand Lake is a good option. There is enough shopping to keep her busy for a day. You can fish shadow, grand and granby--and don't forget willow creek. Or even shoot over to Kremmling and hit up Wolford.

Leadville has some great bed and breakfast places. You can ice fish Turquoise, Clear Creek, A short drive to Ski Cooper or Copper Mtn etc.

Rent a cabin up at Grand Mesa Lodge overlooking Island lake or one of the other lodges. Ice fishing, snowmobiling or downhill skiing at Powderhorn.

Only on here would anyone think that "romantic getway" and "ice fishing" belong in the same sentence.

Hot Sulpher Springs, just west of Granby. I've never tried the pools there, but I'd imagine it's not too bad...
