i just load the 24 and the 27 with some fluorocarbon. Called frabill directly, paid less than retail.

It's a super secret! I don't think anybody has!

Looks pretty slick, really. Could have the advantages of a round reel without the birdsnesting.

Lot of people are using Fly reels for ice fishing. Frabill has a nice Straight line reel which is just like the Fly reels.

Now you do know that you pull the line out and feed it into the hole? It's not like opening a spool and dropping line down. So anything over 30 or so feet it will take a while. They keep your line straighter and less twisting.

What would be the differnce from just loosening the drag a touch on a spinning reel to straighten out the line some . To me the reel is just holding the line I would assume the rod and line have more to do with those panfish rods. IMO the reel doesn't matter much until you start getting into bigger fish then smoothness and drag are needed. Heck there's not a sun fish out there I couldn't land wrapping line around a pop can

Pop can,Pop can. That is good. True though. I do know most people using these reels are mostly fishing Panfish. No Lake Trout,Pike or even a large brown. Pop can would be hard to reel in one of those as would the Fly reels.

A bottle works better.
