Does anybody know where to buy a good laker rod in the Aurora Area?

Gary, what length are you looking for? I picked up one of the Frabill 32" MediumHeavy Combo's from Bass Pro last year...I love it so far.

I have the same one they are out checked yesterday. I need one for spin cast large eyes. I checked BPS Gander and even Walmart. 32" MH

Sportmansguide sells just the Rod(not combo) Frabill 32 MH

Get a thorne bros. 42" professional graphite MH action. They are available in either spinning or casting.

A friend of mine is building better rods for half the price of Thorne Bros. He goes by Forever phishing custom rods.

looney or koldkut can make you a great rod, they know what the laker guys are using this is one case where custom it really theonly way to go, I have not found a rod off the shelf I like , the bernie rod was closest , to short handle for me but a good shack rod, discontinued......

Looked at his ice rod listing on ebay, its a $100.00 buy it now. The Thorne Bros is also $100.00 for a laker rod, 42" Custom Graphite Professional.

Thorne. Bros now makes 45" and 48" models too, casting or spinning in MH. IMO a longer rod helps keep a big fish hooked better, less chance for slack line. Almost all my big lake trout that I've lost spit the hook rather than broke the line. The 10# flouro I use held up fine for last year's 37 pounder I got.
