Default green mountain

I've never ice this lake before and I'm going this weekend, so I was wondering where to head? I just need some kind of idea to fish for lakers. Thanks

The limey,

Check out my recent reports. Ive been finding lakers in 40 to 50 feet of water. Since ice has been sketchy or nonexistent 2 weeks ago...ive been setting out from the inlet but since the whole lake has enough ice for people to walk out on 100 feet of water.. Im sure places like heeney or the north side by the dam are good to go by now. Good luck... I think im done with gm for the year since the other lakes i go to for bigger and better quality lakers nearby got good ice.

Fished by the Heeney boat ramp yesterday, about 20 feet from shore, I would estimate 40 FOW. Fished from 2:30-4:30, 2 lakers, 16" and 19", one on a 3" white tube the other on a white and pink twister, both right off the bottom.

The ice was about 4-5" of solid ice, with a layer of slush and water on top, and then another layer of thin ice on that, kind of like a slushie sandwiched between two layers of ice. I probably could have gone out further but did not feel comfortable with it, the tracks looked like others had done the same and turned back. There were some guys on sleds ripping around, so it is probably solid. Another week should get er nice and solid, especially with the inversion we have had the past several days.

That was me loading the snowmobile next to your vehicle when the game warden was there. I recognize your dog in your avatar.

It was -14 when we unloaded at 7:30 in the morning and I truthfully dont think it ever made it above ten degrees?

Nice!

How did you do?

It was 3F when I got there at 2:30 and 0F when I left at 4:30

We caught a bunch of those liitle snot rockets that GM is best known for.
It's a good first outing.
That was the thinnest ice I have ever taken a machine on so it was nice being distracted with the bites.

I give it a thumbs up. I limited out 15 inchers and a 18" brown. Ice seemed safe were I went from the boat ramp down past cataract bay. MTX also laced up a limit of " snot rockets"
