Default Finally Got Some Plastic Eggs Tied Up...

I finally got some bead eggs tied up. I like the way they look and am stoked to try them. I ended up finding company that sells complete kits on eBay that come with everything you need and a bunch of extra materials. If you remember correctly, I was having trouble finding a hook that would work with my beads. On eBay the products are listed as "Lee's Ale Eggs" and you can buy the kit or the flies already tied. The kit comes with instructions and a sample fly. It's gonna be sweet to experiment with different color schemes. The last pic is not mine. It is from their Facebook. Their group is called Speed Stream Products. The guy is out of Lakewood and I think it's a cool little amalgamation so I figured I'd share. These should be great for our rivers but I want to try them for Stillwater. Maybe I'll add a tungsten bead...

I didn't know it was possible to make an egg pattern complicated

It's like an egg sucking midge.

Sounds pretty cookie-cutter to me. Tying the fly and trying new things is half the fun.

I just assumed that this was related to your other thread. You got some solid advice but never responded and then posted this thread. Pegged beads will look more natural and are so simple to rig.

Nice ties. In the past when I fished a plastic egg I'd just peg it, otherwise the risk of a deep hook is too high for my taste. You might be OK with that xl shank but I would still recommend compressing the barb for easy removal of that swallow take; you'll get a better hook set none the less. Good luck.
