Default Squirmy Wormy Glitch

Just tied up a dozen flies plus two extras of the squirmy Wormy pattern. I like the look and feel and want to get some more colors. After finishing, I glued them up like I do all my other flies. (Cyanoacrylate) The glue appeared to eat right through the rubber or soft plastic or whatever it is. Can you guys recommend the best option for me to get them glued? I know it isn't necessary but I want them to be as durable as possible and I don't wanna cut corners and be lazy. Plus my listings on eBay say I glue them...if anyone has experience in the subject, I'd appreciate it.

There was once a post long ago about how to improve the SJW... I use wire to tie mine and only put glue on the final wraps. Using dubbing to thicken the thread and spread out the pressure on the Squirmy wormy material helps too. and makes the thread more durable.

W658 I hear you about wanting to make the fly as sturdy as possible, but if your thread wraps are tight I don't think you really need the glue. As bugz mentioned wire will sure help, but if you insist on gluing you look into some of the UV resins. If all else fails a good coating of clear Sally Hansen's should do the trick!

Keep your squirmies as simple as possible. After a couple fish the rubber tears apart anyway. Don't complicate it
