Default CDC Question

Does anyone use synthetic preen oil to bring their CDC back to life?

never heard of the stuff! My CDC bugs are usually pretty beat at the end of the day, so i'm not sure if it would help anyway. Is it used to refresh the bouancy or to revive old feathers?

Its for after the end of the day. You don't apply it on the stream because it needs to dry. You put it on by dipping a needle in the jar and then running the needle through the CDC. Supposedly it "refreshes" the feathers. On the other hand, I've heard that its the structure of CDC, not the preen oil, that give it its special properties.

CDC is trout magic...but I figure the flies just aren't gonna last no matter what. I think of them as disposable...but they are so effective that I just don't care.

They are cheaper then a skunk!

Cul de canard. i'ts french for "butt of the duck". I'ts the feathers from the rear of the duck where the oil glands are. They spread it over the rest of thier feathers to keep Em waterproof. So these feathers float really well. Also they are light and airy.
