Default Who's used the Montana Fly Lucent beads?

I just noticed we carry these at BPS now. In Gold, Coffee, and Christmas Red.

They look pretty juicy. Though I don't understand why 'Gold' is considered a color that's different from the gold plated beads. Apparently these beads are anodized instead of plated or painted.

Nice colors. May have to pick up some of those red ones.

I got some of the coffee flavored ones. They are heavy and look cool. What else can you say about tungsten beads?

I have tied some red headed Prince Nymphs and they worked well. The beads held up pretty good and I would say that the paint stayed on throught lots of casts and fish. I have started using them on my tung. Glossy Back. I put the coffee on on with both brown and cream colored flys. I plan to get more.

I've got a bunch, so far so good. A few have had some knocks on rocks, and come up missing the coating, but for the $, its a good deal. MFC keeps coming up with good stuff.

I have tied up a few nymphs using the blue, lavender and red ones. Neat beads.

I didn't realize that the coffee color was a coating. I just looked at a couple of the flies I tied with those beads and there are some serious chips in the coating revealing the silver colored tungsten inside. It doesn't really bother me, but I wasn't too rough with any of those flies....

Here is a pattern I have been playing around with the Blue bead. It will get a work out this weekend.

hm. really have to think about picking up a few of those then.

Hey Al, do ya think coating the outside of the bead with something, say Sally Hansen's, might help for durability? I can't tell you the number of things people recommend using clear nail polish on - glasses frames, jewelry, etc. Might help.

It'll be a cold day in hell before I meticulously apply nail polish to my beads.
