Default Un-fing-real

Some off you know I'm a big fan of hillbilly genius, well this guy got my attention. Plus as some one who enjoys walking off into the woods with nothing but my knife, this is top notch survival chit

my comment is simple... I can afford hooks.. not elite hooks, but not ones made of thorns.

If I somehow end up in a time machine and go back a few hundred years that info will come in handy.

And one more time, y'all call me an elitist?
I was really hoping y'all would look deeper than the ex-hobo and see the simplicity behind it,

Oh well guess I'm just a sucker for ingenuity

I was wondering where the blue stuff on his fingers came from too. Didn't look too particularly healthy either.

I'm still fascinated by the easiest written about flies with the two waxy feathers from the turkey neck and a bit of red wool... Anybody read the article a few issues back in Fly Tyer with the old school patterns tied on hooks you had to build your own leaders for ( hooks were eye less )? Patterns called for materials from the farm, field, and barnyard. Classic flies.

I still say he married me because he took me ice fishing and I still wanted to go fishing with him again!

Took my boy on a bike ride to the lake about five years ago. We arrived at a dock where a few siblings were fishing, but doing poorly. My boy found a crappie jig lead-head. I found some duck flank feathers, and lots of liter line on the ground. I tied up a minnow pattern with it, put the liter line on a stick from the willow by the dock, and caught about 6 or 7 blue gills.

He still talks about it to this day. He just brought it up at a dinner party two nights ago.

I guess I'm a redneck. That works for me.
