Default UV World

So up until now I pretty much just ignored the UV light/goo fad.

That was because I am dumb and a slow learner and have seen the UV light so to speak. Does anyone have any experience using some cheapo no-name chinese UV light with success? I know the light wave spectrum of the thing matters, so I didn't want to buy a cheapo light to try out only to find I should have just bought a nicer light in the first place.

If this has already been covered in a previous post, I am sorry.

I think Loon makes a light for about $10.The cheapest way to cure it is with sunlight.

I actually just bought one of the mini Loon UV lights today. It works pretty decent to be honest. About 10 seconds to dry a size 22 fly. For the price I would give it a pretty good rating.

Sunlight works great if you're tying during the day, and it's free! ...used to cure my surfboards that way!

I bought some knockoff Japanese one on Amazon for like $7 I think. Works fine, but I lost it. Did some searching to find it again, there are a ton of cheap options:

They can't be much different from the commercial ones that Loon and Clear Cure Goo sell for like $40...

I am using my old '80's style cheapo blacklight like everybody bought to light up their glow in the dark posters way back then. Got mine from a friend ages ago.

Yeah, I need electricity to use it but it works great on UVKS and I have frequently used it at tying demos.

I have not, apparently it has the consistancy of water. I use the CCG standard stuff; but I bet this Hydro stuff would be real good for covering midge and buzzer bodies quickly.
