Default New to me boat

I just bought a little 12'er with a trolling motor. Looking for places to go and folks to come along (local knowledge would be helpful, but not essential). Any "helpful" advice is welcome.

Arvada Reservoir is a good place for that type of boat. It opens up Tuesday.

Ay-yup. Run two 12 volt in parallel get more than twice the run time.

You hook the two up red to black, right?

parallel means + to +, - to - like your hooking up jumper cables.

Thanks for the suggestions. The guy I got the boat from gave me two batteries, so I am good there.

Thanks, I would have had it wrong and probably burned out some transistors.

If you hook it up in series that's how you get 24 volts. A 12 volt motor is probably going to be fine for your little 12 foot boat but if you want more power you can get a 24 volt motor and really scoot!

Congrats on the new boat. might want to check in to the little 3hp gas moters with the internal gas tank. They are awesome for boats that size. Light wieght, a tank of gas lasts for a day or two, and can usually mount it and an electric side by side. Also if you extend the length of your electric moter cables, you can stow the batteries up in the bow and they serve as a ballast. Good luck!
