Mount transducer thru-hull?

I sometimes take the kayak on Atown and was thinking I'd use my old HDS-5 for it. From what I read the transducer will shoot right thru make a sweet setup. That way I don't need a bracket, arm, etc.

Anyone try this?

I mounted a thru-the-hull vex transducer on my old aluminum boat, worked fine. You need a level spot and get all air bubbles out when mount with epoxy.

That would be cool if you could get it to "see" through plastic hull on your kayak. :)

I use a product called Duct Seal, it's basically a heavy duty silly putty. Make a small water tight reservoir and put your transducer in it. Add a small amount of water and boom, your in business. It's like 3 bucks at Home Depot

Sounds like the winner!
