Default Thinking about making my own wacky tool...

For those that don't know what a wacky tool is, go to tacklewarehouse and search for it. Basically it's a device to put an o ring around the middle of a worm for wacky rigging techniques. They range from about $5 to $21 (overpriced) for the metal ones that are more heavy duty... Anyway, while researching for a few minutes it came to me... Why not just smooth out a center punch since it's already brass, and add a screw to the end...?

Anybody ever try this?

Should be pretty easy and much cheaper than tw, just need to actually use my bench grinder...

I use clear heat shrink tubing in the appropriate size instead of the o-rings. Just a little lube and they slide right on. I did once upon a time just use a sharpie body

Yeah, we sell the heat shrink tubing, I find it far better and cheaper than the o-rings. About 1/4" pieces

Yeah, the heck with that high dollar device.

Looks like you could use a big piece of brass if you happen to do hand-loads for your anti-aircraft guns.

The HS tubing works. I like to use surgical tubing cut into tiny bands, because I can also use it to build skirts. I put the hook through the tubing perpendicular to the "senko type" and it is great.

As Period mentioned, the barrel of a marker works well if you just have to have the O rings.

A gutted Sharpie or a gutted normal writing pen (depending on the size of Senkos you use). That and a bag of clear rubberbands for braces from Walmart.

I find myself using thicker worms lately so it's a must.
