Which blanks?, I've had my hands on a few of their regular MHX rods, and their Ice blanks.

Good stuff, I know Boondock, MrWiggles, and Tangler have MHX rods, and I have some MHX builds for other members coming up shortly.

I have a custom built on a 6'6" ML MHX blank and really like it for smaller jigs, senkos, t-rigs, et al. Great tip, great sensitivity.

I just placed an order for one last night. Just kinda wished I would have gotten the fiberglass option instead of the solid carbon fiber.

Why the 42" blank over the 36" or the 30" blank? I can't wait to get a hold of their heavier ice rod offerings.

[/quote I like them tipped up on a higher stand while dead sticking. It makes it easier to recognize the bite while you may be 20' away jigging. Only problems I see with teh longer ice rods are hard to use inside a hut and while dead sticking they almost teater over into the hole.
This is just my experience while fishing with laker guys. This will be my first 42" laker rod.
