take it back to BPS if they wont fix it for free or a small fee just buy a repair kit and do it yourself. you should be able to fix it for about 5,00

I find it hard as hell to replace just the inserts. Easy enough to pop out, but getting a replacment in without breaking it is tough!
You can replace the whole guide, but that takes wrapping skills and IMO the rod wont cast quite the same unless you know what you are doing.
Just take the rod back and exchange it. If they wont exchange it, you should have bought Cabelas.
If the rod wont last a year, of typical wear and tear, might be time to start looking into somthing else.
Love me some recoil guides.

Don't replace the insert, replace the whole guide.

I have an assortment of guides.....if you need a good used one, or I can tell you where to get one.

I have the same issue..My rod isn't a high dollar rod by any stretch, but I like the way it fishes and I want to fix it. I'm pretty sure mine is a 2mm top, and lucky me, the fix it kits all have bigger sizes..Does anyone have a source for tip tops in hard to find sizes?

Why bother with that..BPS would take it back if it was ten years old and you ran over the rod with your truck. They are as good as it gets for returns. They replaced free of charge a pair of waders I bought that had 15 holes in them and were two years old.

I doubt 2mm. if its a micro guide it most likely a 3.5 or 4. measure it with a micrometer. or contact the company, they will tell you. or post it here, I know some of them.

I should have been clearer, my mistake. By 2mm, I meant the diameter of the actual rod end the tip top shank fits over. The id of the eyelet hole is 6.5mm. Can't measure the eyelet, it fell out like the op's. I don't know if Bps or ? sells parts. That mudhole site is great, and if I just can't find one locally, I guess I can hit them up.

Sounds to me like BPS just might do something about the op's rod. I'd take mine up there if it was a BPS. My rod is just a no-name Im8, and I like it enough to give fixing it a try.
