Default My very own laker rod

For all the rods I dress up, and all the rods I build for myself, I can hardly seem to decorate my own stuff and then hold onto it for very long.....Maybe I'll keep this one for a while.

The seat was a black friday special two years ago, so I went with black and red. I've done these wraps on other rods before but none quite this big. I also put some red pearl particle in the finish, this is the same stuff used for automotive finishes, I dole it out on the end of toothpick, it's that fine and you need not even a pinch of the stuff. It certainly looks better in the sun, but the camera was able to pick it up.

Very nice work. Did you get the blank/cork from mudhole? How long is it?

I've had a couple of fly rods come back broke after I had a bunch of hours in them. It's never a good feeling.

That is a mudhole CRB IM601M cut down to 48" from the butt end. Pac bay minima 4 guides, discontinued fuji seat, and the cork was clamped and turned like the other rod I posted in the tackle garage with the blakc and blue foam in it.
