Default cure'n fish skin

Id like to see if there is a way to do that, any of yall know a way? . I wanna be able to add it.onto some rods and other fly gear.

Skin it, flesh it, wash it with dish soap to de-slime it, towel dry, borax it to de-grease it, and tan it.

Taxidermists, did I get that about right?

I'm interested in seeing results from this, I know I've seen this type of question asked before over on rodbuilding.org, I don't recall any positive results from attempting this. Would be cool if you could get it done though, I hear color loss on the skin is what one of the guys spoke of.
