Default Things you wish you knew before you started bass fishing

I spent most of last year chasing trout. I've always wanted to get more into bass fishing but never really committed to it.

This year I'm going for it, it's the year of the bass!

So I thought I'd start a thread where you veteran bass anglers can share your wealth of knowledge...

What are some things you wish you knew when you first started bass fishing?

What are some of the best tips you've been told or learned when it comes to chasing bass?
