Default Carter Lake Kokes?

Does anyone know if there are still kokanee in Carter Lake, and if so, when in the fall they will start to move into shallower water?

On 2 different days last week, I tried trolling the "traditional" hardware (wedding ring spinners tipped with white shoepeg corn) in 20 to 40 ft. of water to see if I could pick one up, but I really don't know if there were any kokes around or not, because I couldn't keep the damn rainbow trout off my lures long enough to find out.

Also, I kept marking big fish on the bottom at the 28-30 ft. level just out from dam #1, but I never found out what they were.

I've been to Carter quite a few times this year and have caught a few kokes, but they have been few and far between. I would usually catch them trolling roostertail spinners near the surface. This year, however, I've caught more rainbows and undersized walleye. So my experience has also been a less than banner year for kokes at Carter.

I know this is old info, but I saw a Terry Wickstrom show a year or two ago on fishing Carter for kokes. If I remember correctly, he was fishing them in early October, along the shoreline. Never fished there myself, so can't say for sure if that is true or if there are still some in there.

Ditto on Mtmans post. I saw that show as well and I believe the time of year was October. I have fished there a little and never caught a Koke. Not that I have really tried though. Maybe it would be worth a shot? I would love to hear if anyone can catch em. Not a far drive from the house!
