Default camping/fishing recommendations

On memorial weekend last year we went to golden gate canyon. Its a great place to camp because its about a 1.5 mile hike in so there arent too many people and there are some tasty trout. The bad part is that we cant have a camp fire. Does anyone know of a good camping/fishing spot that allows fires and isnt crazy far from denver?

Thanks!

Good luck. The fire bans are here to stay, I fear... Even in a 140%-160% snow pack year, they're going to keep them in place.

Shame.

I didn't realize there's a fire ban. I've been grilling with charcoal lately, sometimes that's banned ascwell up here. I hope not this season.

I did not know that there is a fire ban. Is it on the front range only or state wide or just certain areas?

After I saw this thread yesterday I looked up fire bans in Colorado... The majority of Colorado is NOT on a fire ban.... YET!!

Thanks for the link RVINSON.

Can the mods put that link as a sticky under camping?

Hey, we have crazy snow pack, moisture up the ying yang, but there's wild fires in Ca and Az, so let's ban fires. Gotta love bureaucratic a-holes.
