Default Looking for new bass ponds around Erie

I am thinking of trying Stearns lake at the Carolyn Holmberg Open Space on 9/22. Has anyone ever fished it? I would also like to try some other lakes in the area and am looking for new spots. I've hit the usual Sawhill, Walden, Erie Res., Pella Etc. am I missing some good water? I am also new to bass fishing and have never fished for them in the fall. Any tips would be welcome. I fish from shore and belly boat.
Thanks [email protected]

I live about a block away and fish there quite often.I guess I didn't know the name of it. They stocked it last year and you could catch stockers like crazy. I recently have been targeting the bass but have yet to catch any of real size. A few about 10" or so at the biggest. I'm hoping that they will continue to grow and next year will be of some size. I don't often see people fishing for bass so I'm hoping it is my little secret pond. I'll just go on thinking that for the time being. Have tried just about everything in that pond and they seem to like the spinner baits the best. I even catch trout on those skirted spinner baits something I have not had happen before. Thanks for the tip though. Are big Thompson ponds what used to be* Barbour ponds? Or are they in Longmont?

no not Barbour ponds, further north just before
Loveland, if your coming from the south take the exit after
Johnsons trk stop, head north on the frontage road about
half mile , take a left under I-25 (use caution, one lane) and
follow it to the ponds.

Thanks I have never really checked that area out much. I have fished back in there once with no luck are they any good? Iwas also thinking about checking into waterfowl hunting back there along the river. I believe it is open for that as well. I,m curious how much use it gets.
