Default Twin Lakes

Just curious as everyone seems to flock to Granby for Mack fishing- There is some great Laker fishing at Twin lakes and I wondered why more people do not go there? I used to work with a guy that fished a lot there and in the Spring he caught more big Macks there than any other lake around seemed like and they were huge- Like 30 plus inchers. It was not a one or two thing either, it was many. If I were a Mack fisherman I would be headed up there definitely...

Twin Lakes, Turqoise, and Forebay all have great potential for big lakers... There are a ton of people that fish them, just go to the lake and you will see.
I hope to hit Twin atleast a couple times this year.

Epic -- if you are looking for people to split gas on a trip to twin lakes this year let me know. I am in the springs and would like to ice it this winter. it just gets expensive driving the dodge out there and I can't fit my gear in the car

Where is twin lakes located? I've heard of it but never found out where? And where to start looking for fish would be helpful.

From colo. spgs. go west on hy. 24 about 140 to 150 and folow the signs, it is well marked. then go to the boat ramp, you can drive on the ice , but i would park in the parking lot ( they loose a truck every once in awhile even snowmobiles)if you walk out about 75 yds and go west on that shore you are in good mac waters. caution dont get to close to the power plant, the ice is unsafe there. you will see shacks on the ice that they leave all winter. they are on the good spots

This guy used to jig for them with Chartreuse gitzits tipped with sucker meat and he did extremely well there. I don't fish for macks, but thought I would pass this along to those that do. Might be worth a shot sometime. Granby seems like such a huge lake and I imagine it takes a lot of time to figure it out.

Macks are pretty easy fish to figure out... they relate to structure. Under the ice start by looking for humps, valleys, slopes in 30-50 FOW.

That wasnt meant to be boastful... most fish are easy to figure out where to find them, but its sometimes hard to get them to bite. But dont try to over think them.... I was mostly talking about ice fishing anyways I know absolutly nothing about trolling for them...
