Default first time troller

Hello fellow anglers. First time poster here. First off just wanted to say thanks to the creators of this website. Seem like a great resource for local fisherman. I'm a long time warm water fisherman, I grew up around one of the biggest lakes in Oklahoma fishing for LMB, SMB, Crappie, Cat, Sandies and Striper. Now that I'm living in the great state of Colorado I'm kinda havin to learn things all over again. Any way goin up to Eleven mile this Sunday and gonna try my hand at downrigger trolling (for the first time). I have read a couple artivles and visited many websites but wanted to get some advice from fisherman that actually fish this way at Eleven mile. Any advice would be cool. Thanks yall...

About the only way to get kokes in the boat now is to snag 'em! Hey- maybe you could run some 5/0 trebles off the downriggers!

Im no pro but I can try and pass on some of the things I do know.

Use your sonar to find the depth where the fish are holding. Depending o the weight of your D.R ball you'll have to adjust your depth due to the swing back of the forward momentum(sp) per the speed you're going. I like 10lb weights as they seem to track pretty up and down.

When the 'Queen of trolling' gets home from work im sure she'll be able to give you some better tips than me
