Default Evergreen

On my way to Echo lake (Mt. Evans) I noticed that there are several ponds under the bridge right when you make the turn by evergreen, there is a sign reading squaw pass. I saw a fly guy pull out an enormous fish, couldnt tell what it was I assume it was a trout ( i was far away) and then he released it back. Anybody fish those ponds.

They are private trout ponds but you can fish them if you pay Blue Quill Angler across the street a certain daily fee. Don't know how much it is though. They are catch and release, fly fishing only, barbless hooks of course.

Only the first two ponds are open to public fishing. A daily fee is required to fish. You can purchase wrist bands at the rec center which is located right next to the ponds. I fished it once last year ($26 for non-resident) and caught (and released) many nice rainbows... including a 24 incher.

The ponds have aerators which keeps the ice off longer. We decided to give it a shot late last year when the ice on surrounding lakes was still too thin and we wanted a fishing fix.

From what I've been told it sounds like those ponds are stocked by Evergreen Trout, and members get to fish one day a month for free.* They also help maintain Bear Creek in the Mt. Evans SWA.* Sounds like a pretty cool organisation, anyone on here a member?
