Default winter pike?

Are pike as active as trout in the winter or are they like bass and do not bite anything you throw at them?

yeah.
I've caught my biggest pike out of reservoirs in the winter. The big ones aren't nearly as finicky in the winter as they are the summer months and the probability of a big pike biting rather than a smaller pike is much greater. Fishing is very rarely, if ever, fast, and is generally slow, but consistent with anywhere from 0-6 fish days being the norm. I have a massive thread about it somewhere in the ice fishing forum.

No Epic pike are in Martin. Quite a few of them and big ones too. Some over 40" and nearing 20+lbs!!

Good fisheries down that way but do they freeze over solid enough to fish on them?

Don't think I made it to Walsenburg to fish this year

Thats good to know... Thanks. From what I hear these and Trinadad usually stay unfrozen all winter.
